The model numbers for the first-generation AirPods are A1523 and A1722. Production of the first-generation AirPods was discontinued on March 20, 2019, after the second generation was released.
Once you have the serial number, go to https://checkcoverage.apple.com and enter it. If the number doesn’t show up or displays an error, there’s a high chance the AirPods are fake.
