From 13 May 2024 the Administrative Earnings Threshold (AET) went up for individuals and couples. For individual claimants, the AET is £892 per assessment period. Additionally, if you’re in a couple, the combined couple’s AET is £1,437 per assessment period.

This year benefit rates officially go up on 6 April (beginning of 2025/26 tax year). For many benefits, the new rates will take effect from 7 April. However, for some Universal Credit claimants, increased rates will take effect around June.
There’s no limit to how many hours you can work and still get Universal Credit. If your wages go up, your Universal Credit payment will reduce.
